What makes our drum lessons different?

What if you saw your child play to a packed audience at a concert? The audience is applauding and your child is just thrilled! What if your child was an introvert and can now command a performance in front of his peers? What if your child told you they’d rather practice their instrument instead of scrolling on their phone? What if your child said “Hi Mom! Listen to this!”
These are all true stories we hear at Classic Studios all the time. We are so proud to be a small part of these great memories families can create.
Our drum instructors teach rock, metal, jazz, funk, blues and many other styles. Drum language can be complex and our instructors will challenge any drummer with a wide variety of technical exercises designed to improve your speed and comfort. All drummers bring in their favorite drum parts to learn in their lessons and theory is encouraged. We have many drum students who play in local bands be it in rock clubs or their local churches. You do not have to purchase a drum kit to take lessons. Beginning students can learn with a drum pad and sticks. Students use our drum set at their lessons and do not have to bring anything except their drum sticks and a notebook.

You can get started within 1 week! Enrollment is always open and you can start at anytime.
(Lessons are at the same time and on the same day each week, but can be changed if sports or other schedules require you to move spots!)
Our drum instructors are warm and friendly, and get to know each student and parent on a personal level. We work with you to craft a lesson plan that fits your individual needs and the student’s favorite type of music. Whether you’re playing in local bands, a seven year old taking their first lesson, or a fifty year old returning to the drums after many years, we’ll set goals to achieve your musical aspirations.
We teach all styles, from rock, pop, jazz, and blues to metal & country.
Our drum and music instructors have received their education from prestigious institutions such as Macewan University, University of Alberta, SNFU University, University of Arkansas, Humber College, Many have toured the US and Europe, and bring over 25 years of professional performance and teaching experience to your lessons.
Beginner drum students can expect to work on technique, simple songs and rhythms, sight reading and theory. Our instructors balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson presents a new technical challenges or theory concept, and ends with something fun, such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of drum method books including our own, and encourage students to bring their smartphone or CDs to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes.
For your convenience, students can use one of ours at their first lesson. But to practice at home, you will need your own drums. We will also help you find a drum set.
