Jan is a fantastic teacher! He always makes you feel like you are his only student. He doesn’t just teach music, he teaches a love for music. He has a way of making it fun and enjoyable. Even if Charlotte is having a bad day, she always comes away from her lesson very happy and positive. He really understands her and is helping her grow, not only as a musician, but as a person as well. She has learned so much from Jan and has had so many great experiences. I can’t say enough great things about Jan Janovsky and Classic Studios!

2021 PROVINCIAL ROUND of the CFMTA National Vocal Competition

Michael Sullivan Parr is an ARMTA member with 2 bachelor degrees, one Master of Music degree, years of teaching experience and years of international performing experience.

Application deadline: April 18, 2021

Application fee: $50

Competitors must be:

no older than 25 years of age as of January 1, 2021
Canadian Citizens or landed immigrants
voice student of an ARMTA teacher at the time of application

Alberta Step 2 changes
to Group Performance Activities
(effective March 8, 2021)

Additional Step 2 changes for Alberta came into effect March 8, which includes the easing of restrictions for group performance activities for both children and adults.

In addition, the Government of Alberta BizConnect confirmed via email that it is only group performance activities and not one-on-one lessons that need to maintain 3 metres of distancing:

No changes have been made to one on one instruction per the new public health order. All persons are required to maintain 2 metres of physical distance from all other persons at all times. With the eased restriction on group physical and performance activity, this was extended to 3 metres. Additionally, Section 82.4 of Public Health states that a coach, instructor or teacher is not required to maintain physical distance if doing so inhibits the guidance or instruction being provided.
